Need miata motor

Hey guys,
I just got the word from my local tech that I blew the motor in my spec miata 1.6L.

As luck would have it, it was the third lap of that last time trial. Amazing, I made it through the season.

Despite the fact that it had an air cleaner, it looks like something broke and made it's way into the cylinders, hammered around a bit on the piston, bent a valve, and then left. The tech says everything's pretty banged up and tired and not worth repair.

So, I guess I'm looking for a new motor. The local salvage yard has one for $500.

Anyone got a lead?? See you tomorrow night.
